In these cases, you may just want to repair those floorboards. We are here to provide the best solution for you to keep your hardwood floors looking beautiful for years to come.

One of the biggest enemies of wood flooring is water. Water left on your hardwood floors will soak into the wood causing discoloration. This is why it’s important to not let any spill stay on the floor and to clean it up quickly. Also when cleaning hardwood floors it is best not to use water because if any standing water is left on the wood then the wood will soak it up causing damages. If you have a couple floorboards that have been damaged due to water then we can come in and replace those pieces of wood.

Moisture problems due to leaks can cause a big problem so it is best to get any leaks taken care of as soon as possible. Due to moisture imbalance cupping or crowing can occur. Cupping occurs when there is more moisture under the floors than there is above causing the edges of the wood to rise higher than the middle of the wood. Crowing is the opposite where the middle of the wood is higher than the edges of the wood panel due to excess moisture.

It is good to watch for acid like solutions on wood flooring because they can eat away at the floor’s polish and cause damage. Make sure to wipe up quickly food items high in acid like lemon juice or other fruit juices so as not to cause damage to the polish which is protecting the floors. Also, products like nail polish remover, if spilled on wood, can cause damage to the polish of the floor. If there are some floorboards that had damaging products spilled on them that took away part of the polish then you might want to consider repairing them to avoid further damage to the wood board.
